Gulf Racing colors - Any such trucks out there?

Hi all, I usually hang about in the 60-66 section.

However, today I am looking around everywhere for ideas.

Photoshopped or real.

Please post up whatever you have.

Here are some Gulf Liveried cars, bikes etc...... just to get the creative juices flowing.

Just been reading a bit and got stuck on one of the race liveries most often copied.

Gulf Oil Corporation

WIKIPEDIA Says....

Gulf Oil was a major global oil company from the 1900s to the 1980s. The eighth-largest American manufacturing company in 1941 and the ninth-largest in 1979, Gulf Oil was one of the so-called Seven Sisters oil companies. Prior to its merger with Standard Oil of California, Gulf was one of the chief instruments of the legendary Mellon family fortune; both Gulf and Mellon Financial had their headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Gulf's former headquarters, originally referred to as "the Gulf Building" (now the Gulf Tower office condos), is an art-deco skyscraper. The tallest building in Pittsburgh until 1970, when it was eclipsed by the U.S. Steel Tower, it is capped by a step pyramid structure several stories high. Until the late 1970s, the entire top was illuminated, changing color with changes in barometric pressure to provide a weather indicator that could be seen for many miles.
Gulf Oil Corporation (GOC) ceased to exist as an independent company in 1985, when it merged with Standard Oil of California (SOCAL), with both re-branding as Chevron in the USA. Retail stations in Canada were acquired by Ultramar the same year.[1]
However, the Gulf brand name and a number of the constituent business divisions of GOC survived. Gulf has experienced a significant revival since 1990, emerging as a flexible network of allied business interests based on partnerships, franchises and agencies.

Small pic for a small car..... ;D

Re: Gulf Racing colors - Any such trucks out there?

Just to put this request into perspective.

Some photos.

This is my current ride, just about to sell it on to replace it with a C10 to tow the teardrop trailer I built.

Here is a look of how I had planned to do my Transit van below.

The thought has crossed my mind also to do our Pickup truck like a Race/drag support vehicle for a fantasy Sinclair Oil Corp racing team.

Though I do believe Sinclair did venture into Nascar at one point.

It would be great if someone has photos to post up on here for me as well, of any Sinclair Liveried cars and trucks.

I doubt anyone has done that yet over in the USA, so doing it in the UK could be a great challenge and reward.

Photoshop of how it was meant to end up in Sinclair Oil Corporation colours.

And a wild flight of fantasy.

Not to hijack, but do you have any more details on the teardrop trailer?

A link to a build thread, perhaps?

Hi Keith, never a problem, and I do not see anything as a hijack.

Take a look here in this thread, I think the link to the original full build thread is in there too, and a lot more photos and details.

Shout if that does not answer the questions.

Just checked, build link in the thread at start.

Hope you like it.

Off topic is never a problem if it gets you an answer.

I do not know, but I am 99% sure it wont be the same as my van is a Europe/mostly German only model.

The van that was available at the same time as this Transit in the late 50' and early 60's was the Ford 400e use Google images to search and see if it is the same as in the program
