torque converter guestions

how much tranny fluid do i need in the converter, also does it matter much way the bolts go on to bolt the flexplate to the converter

i just did mine and i put 1 quart in converter and the bolt go through facing the rear of the truck

I just got a new converter from speedway for my th400. The instructions that came with it said to put 1qt. in it.
