Well in some of the holes you are right I did use different size nails.

When I was at the hardware store looking for different size nails I found what they said was used for nailing up felt paper for stucco.

These were 1 inch squares of 20ga. with a nail in the center, which I guess was used to hold the paper in place.

I did have someone hold them on the outside of the cab with a vise grip while I tacked them on the inside of the firewall for the small holes <1 inch.
The larger holes I cut 18ga. to fit the opening.

The nail shanks were cut off with a grinder, and is some places additional Mig weld was added where necessary, a little mud sand and prime ... on to the next repair!

How to fill 68 holes in short time, less than 2 hours
