Is this a POSI rearend?

Okay so I picked up a SWB 1967 roller a few months back. I finally popped the cover off the rear end. Is this a posi? I am not 100% but it sure looks like a posi or gov lock or something.. Maybe I am wrong but what are your thoughts.. Also a little concerned with the chunck missing from the gear and some of the scraps on the unit.

That is a Gov-lock, Also know as the "Gov-bomb"... not a matter of if it explodes... but when.

I don't know what type of locker that is, but I can tell you that don't look anything like my open 12 bolt!

Gary this is what I was affraid of.. When I looked at different pics it looked more like the gov bomb.. I guess I will be yanking it out and buying a new posi or switching to a 9 bolt.

Re: Is this a POSI rearend?

One day I noticed my rear diff was leaking. I figured it was the rear cover, so I went to NAPA and got a gasket (sounds easier than it was) and crawled under it to replace the gasket. When I got under there, I noticed metal sticking out through the cover. The gov-loc had exploded and it took the carrier with it.
