Red face stereo install am/fm delco 73 GMC 2500

i have an old delco stereo to install and have ?'s. the 2 knobs line up ok, but the otogon washers that are on the threaded studs, where the knobs are attached are smaller than the dash bezel hole. Are there parts missing? i have brackets holding the stereo in place. Does the stereo have to be moved in so the threaded studs are exposed. i also have all the knobs. need help thanks

hi
your gona need to get some nuts,and washers (nuts 5/8ths outside size)
you need to have a nut hold the knob to the case(seen in loose radio)
slide throught the dash hole and you can then put a washer and nut to hold the front

if you need to space the radio in the hole use more nuts(stock usally don't)
but i did have to trim a bit for the nose to fit
to move it in out,ajust a second nut behind the dash(like the non-stock i took out)
using a third out front
then bezel over top
and be sure to support it from the back

Hi, i found a solution for this. i will attach 3 pics for you to see. i took a piece of light metal 1 3/8" long 1/2" wide 1/8" thick. drilled 2 holes 1 in the top and bottom. the top hole is the same diam size as the threaded part of the vol. and tuner shafts. the bottom was for the screw to hold the metal pieces in place. the pics will show this. i threaded the factory nuts onto each shaft and by doing this brought the radio closer to the front. i placed the dash bezel over the radio and everything was centered. thanks for the idea.
