86 ccswb build

Well I finally got to start on my Crew Cab Short Bed build found a 4x4 body and frame the day after I got a 2wd crew cab so now the plan is to take the best parts from the two trucks and make a nice daily driver.

Truck will have 454,th400 and np205 for now I would like to do a Cummins conversion but the funds for that are not in the cards at this time so that will have to wait a little while.

Re: 86 ccswb build

both trucks have a more rust than I would have liked to start with but here in Missouri they all seem to or are way out of my price range.

The front end is a 44 that came in the truck I pulled the motor,tranny,t-case,new stainless exhaust, wheels and tires from I scraped the rest of the truck except for small parts as it was a plow truck and it was rusted real bad. The motor is a Crate 454 w/15000 miles and the trans and t-case where redone at the time the motor was put in.

I sold the motor, bed and wheels off the 2wd two days after I got it home so now my total investment in the 3 trucks so far including my short fleet bed for the project is $1300 minus what I can sell the parts I'm not going to use and scraping the parts that are not worth saving.

When I get the 4x4 done I am thinking of build the other truck as a crew cab short bed 2wd possibly slamming it on the ground with a ls style motor and trans for a little better fuel mileage.
