I have only slightly taller aluminum valve covers on my truck, and I have to remove the D. side one in order to remove the alternator belt. I have a digi-cam if you want a pic. I don't have power brakes though.

I've got the M/T's alum. on mine. Fit fine. That's with factory a/c and power brakes. I'm able to remove them in the truck. Driver's side takes a little creative jimmying but I have removed it a few times to adjust the valves.

Talking

I just dropped my 454 out of my boat in my 71 long bed.The stud girdels make it hard to get the covers off but I can do it. Its also a non-ac cab so there's more room. My 68 is AC and the 454 hit on the pass side so I had to glass a "cubby" in the condenser cover to accomidate the taller covers. I'll try to send some pics. I've been trying to post pics for a year now and still to dumb to get it right.

Frost, I'm having no luck with the pics.... Anyway, the pass side even with the big a/c box doesn't have a problem. I'm also running crane roller rockers. Check the web site on my signature and there is one pic of the engine in the truck. Not a very good one but that's my son's site.

rage'nrat638> Yeah I am having problems. It's not with the brake booster or anything it's with the firewall. The covers hit the firewall before they go on all the way. But no worries I am a welder fabricator. I will make it work JIM

Mine has about 3 fingers width between the covers and the firewall. It could be because I'm usine the 72 smallblock towers...
