Should I put body side moldings back on my truck?

I is my first thread that I have started so I hope I do it correctly. So hear is my problem. I am think of putting the body side moldings back on my truck. I shaved my truck and before I could paint it decided to to put the bumper and tail lights back in it. Now I am think of putting the body side moldings back on. Maybe all the trim. What do you guys think.
Picture of it shaved.

And an old school picture

Thanks for any help

nice looking fleet you got!
I honestly regret putting my side moldings back on. i love the clean look without side moldings, but to each his own, it'll be a clean truck regardless!

Re: Should I put body side moldings back on my truck?

I vote no side moldings. I just painted my K5 Blazer a few months ago and don't think I'll be putting the side molding back on. At first I planned on adding it back but now have decided to keep it clean and add some K5 Blazer emblems to the front fenders.

Re: Should I put body side moldings back on my truck?

Personally I like these trucks with all the trim. In fact I like the rallies on them too. Very few sets of aftermarket rims will do it for me. So my vote would be put it back on.

I like my trucks like I like my women. Clean, shaven, and waxed.

Sorry. No moldings looks unfinished to me, like the restoration is incomplete.

To complete this analogy: "clean, shaven, waxed, and make up on...."

My favorite part about moulding is how it comes off and flaps in the wind as your driving lol

Re: Should I put body side moldings back on my truck?

Yeah , the only reason i took my moldings off the black 87 was to paint, then i put new ones back on. It's all what you like, so what ever you like seeing in the driveway.

Re: Should I put body side moldings back on my truck?

I think if it's mostly stock besides wheels or drop, side molding fits. however if it's shaved in any even moderate way or wild paint, it would look out of place.

Re: Should I put body side moldings back on my truck?

I like it with and without, but have considered painting it on the 78
i know i've seen it used to hide the "edge"of body work
it sure is easier to wash up without it

Re: Should I put body side moldings back on my truck?

I like it with the side moldings and a tucked car bumper.
I was never a fan of roll pans on this style truck.
the truck desert posted is perfect in my opinion.
