Finally got my 1987 Silverado 4x4 SWB - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys,

This is my first time posting in this part of the forum. I recently bought an 87 Silverado V10 from a gentleman in TX. It has 133K miles, is mostly original and in really good shape. It has its original TBI 350 and 700r4. I was told it was repainted a few years ago in its original black (not the best paint job, it's a 5 foot job). It has no rust (a little surface rust on some parts of the undercarriage) and has been in TX its entire life. It runs down the road like a dream. I plan on using it as my daily driver, adding a 2" lift and 33x10.5 BFGs in the future (keeping the rallies on). I took a few pics of it...and a few with my 76 Blazer Chalet.

I forgot to add that I have the original trim pieces for the rear cab and corners. They never put them back on after painting it. I will definitely put them back on soon.

That truck looks kind of familiar. What part of texas is that from? I think that's going to be sweet lifted with the fat tires. Its nice to see somebody that isn't lowering a good old truck. I would throw on a bigger front bumper with those tires. Looks sweet!

Thanks guys. I got the 87 from a gentleman near Fort Worth. I'm not into lowering trucks either (I like them though)...not practical for where I live and what I do.

I bought the Chalet a couple years ago and have quite a bit of money into it. I've used it to weekend camp in the mountains around where I live and enjoy the heck out of it

There were approximately 1550 Blazer Chalets and 250 Jimmy Casa Grandes produced between 1976 and 1977.

In 1987 GM changed the model designation from C/K to R/V so a V10=K10 (1/2 ton 4x4)

In 87 they switched the c/k designations to r/v for 2wd and 4wd

I gave around $8k for it....quite a bit of money, but I'd be hard pressed to find one more original and in better shape.
