Re: This is one of the coolest trucks I've ever found..

It won't be the last time they hear from me. I'll probably call them once a month, just check up on things and see it they have changed their mind. Either I'll drive them crazy and they will decide to sell it, or I'll get my number blocked.

You know, if you offer to remove the truck without cutting the tree they might say yes just to watch how you do it.

Well it often seems that one man or ladies's cool find for a project truck is someone else's favorite piece of yard art.

That looks like a candidate for an S-10 swap from where I sit though. I'd unbolt the front panel from the box and cut the frame close to the front of the box and pull the cab forward and the bed backwards and call it good.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: This is one of the coolest trucks I've ever found..

It's their property and they can do whatever they want to with it, I guess, but I never understood why someone would rather let a car or truck (or tractor) just sit and rot because it belonged to a family member rather than let someone get it to restore. Is it really honoring the former owner by letting his or her stuff rot away?

I added (or tractor) because a few miles away from where I live there is an formerly nice AD and a Ford 8N tractor sitting under an old shed. They haven't moved since the owner died about 25 years ago and the family won't sell them. They finally hung a tarp across the front so you can't see them from the road any more so people would stop asking.
