I did an axle swap today. put a 3/4 ton eaton full floater from (i think) a 67 or 68 chevy under a 70 1/2 ton truck. Got a question. The u-joint on the driveshaft is too small for the diff. what can i do? thanks

you can get a adapter u joint. it has both sizes,one bigger, one smaller. my fried used one when he did pretty much the same swap on his 76 1/2 4x4.

went to napa, they said they didn't have anything like that. i'm out of ideas. will the half ton yoke fit the one ton diff?

It won't fit. I've had this same problem at a lot of parts stores. Sometimes you just need to take the old u-joint in and the yoke if possible and pretty much draw them a picture. Most part stores will have these crossover u-joints but a lot of the people who work there don't want to look for them.

i took in the ujoint and all....they said they didn't have it. these guys are real good about spendin time and helpin me out. so i don't know. should i look for a specialty shop somewhere?

Have you tried another parts store?? I have bought u-joints like this at a lot of different stores. It's usually a big pain in the you know what though.

I purchased my conversion u-joint from Napa. I needed part #348 to connect my 1/2 ton driveshaft to the one ton 1350 size yoke. Napa carries all sorts of conversion u-joints, so I am surprised they said they couldn't help you.

The Eaton and Corporate 14 Bolt full floater are so similiar that I bet #348 would work for you. You can always return it if it doesn't fit.
