The grill. I love that big chevrolet on steel across the middle.

Those trucks look really good lowered with a shortbed and that frontend. and my next project is going to be a "modern" 69 that drives like a car. Just need some garage space which I wont get till next october when my office lease ends.

Re: Would you do it?

Go with logic and not emotions ....

If you really like the 72 verses the 68 than that is your answer.

Oh yes...pics

Re: Would you do it?

Many years ago I had my 72 that I had spent a lot of time getting it road worthy and to the best of what I considered at the time the way I wanted it. Though it was rough, it had problems and it was my first truck I bought in high school.
Well out of the blue my dad came across a very nice 71 Cheyenne super truck that had a lot of bells and whistles mine didn't have.
But I just couldn't see the forest from the trees. and couldn't bring myself to get rid of the 72.
Well looking back I have to say I kick myself in the rear to many times thinking I let a nice one get away.
And then several years later here I go into a full tear down and resurrection of my 72. Man did I go about it the hard way.
Yes I learned a lot, and became knowledgable of these old trucks. But who's to say I wouldn't have become more knowledgable of these trucks with that very nice 71.

So in retrospect that was definitely a shoulda, coulda, woulda monemt in my life.

Good luck in making your mind up on which way to go.

I still say 72.

Re: Would you do it?

The "rattles" thing is a big part of it for me. I will get the pics today.

I know my 68, had it apart to the last bolt but it was one of those retores that fought me. Most of the time you get at least some things that work on a truck, not this one. But now its got good parts all through her. So well tuned too. I like the all metal aspect as well.

BUT - the 72 is definitly my favorite, just never thought I would come across one.

Thanks for all the info everyone =) I will get some pics. I want to verify the no rust part also. Gonna climb on under it.
