Question Lowering

I plan on getting 20'' rims but I think it will raise my truck up two much, even with 35 profile tires. I've got a 4/6 drop on it now with a flip kit and c-notch and 1'' coils and 3 '' spindles, is there any way to ilower this more without spending a lot of money on new parts since I just had this done a couple months ago, how low could I actually go without cutting out my fenders. I don't have air ride installed....yet.

Thanks

Here's what my 4/6 looks like with 15'' rims with 295/60's.

By looking at your picture Id say your running 15x10's all around. This results as a 29" tall tire. If you ran a 255/40/20 you would actually be at a 28" tall tire. It would prolly actually drop the truck a bit or keep it the same height.

The real kicker with these trucks is that they just look really tall with 20's period. A 5/7 is usually needed to keep them from looking like 4x4's. Bags are always nice with a good set of dubs.

shavedchevy, you have to realize no matter what the rim size, you can still get low profile tires that won't effect the overall height.

Keeping in mind that the numbers on the sidewall are "advertised" deminsions, and not 100% correct, take a look at the link below. They are wheel size calculators that will let you plug in the numbers, and get the concept of what the results will be....

Why such a fat tire on the 20's? You dont even see the rim practically.

I would imagine because he doesn't want to lose ride quality, as well as prove he is a full-time balla.

i'd love to see a pic of the front and see what all you had to do to get it as low as the back.

I dont wanna hijack shaved's thread, but the roads around here are complete junk, so I dont want to have a shattered rim. I think it looks better with a little more sidewall than most do also. Tim's correct also. It rides better with more sidewall too. I will post pics I took this afternoon on my site. Check it out.

practically not seeing the rim is the point!!

The front isnt as low as the back yet. I am in the process of finding a way to get the front down the same as the back. It is about 2.5 - 3 inches higher. I think I will Z the frame in the front. I already had to tub the firewall and lose the A/C.
