tranfer case adapter leak

The tranny went out on my 79 k10, a buddy gave me a good th350/203 to swap in, but its leaking where the adapter bolts to the transfer case. Do I need a gasket, or just unbolt, clean up and rtv? Thanks

Re: tranfer case adapter leak

Yes it needs a gasket, it has a raised surface on the transfer case that does not work well with just sealer.
