Vent window questions

1. I know that the 72's have the screw to help align where the window goes. I see that lmc sells 67-72's, which makes me assume I can get a set from any year, and drill whatever hole and make them work?
2. From my understandings, the main upright, there are chrome versions, and painted versions? Safe to say if its painted on the inside, I had the painted version?
3. As for the metal thats on the glass. One side of mine is chrome, other is rusty. Again, are there chrome and painted versions?
4. Vent windows have to come out to replace the window regulator correct? (wanting to convert door to 67-71 door panels)

Re: Vent window questions

1. The screw helps maintain the correct gap between the inner and outer door panels, and doesn't have anything to do with the vent windows, so any year vent windows will work (maybe 67 have some differences?).
2. You are correct.
3. Yes, there are chrome and painted versions. Custom (the base model) was painted; otherwise chrome.
4. According to my 71 manual, no need to remove the vent windows to change the regulator. I haven't tried it, though.

Hope this helps.

Re: Vent window questions

Thanks. I was peaking up in the door and it looked like that screw went into the vent window frame. Guess I was seeing wrong.

Thanks again!!
