Door problem
How many shims are used on a typical door. Any one have a clue. Top shims and bottom. Count please I'm trying to figure out a starting point.

Normally there is enough adjustment in the door, and hinges, that no shims are needed.

Grab the back of the door and lift up , if it moves up and down your hinges need rebuilding not shims.

normally the only shims are on the striker on the door post...I had some trouble with my upper hinge....the bolt heads on the door hit the hinge and wouldn't let it close completely...caused the door to sag...used thinner washers and ground the heads a bit to cure it...
