'66 Tailgate on '69?

Hey... I may have stumbled onto a good deal on a '66 fleetside tailgate. Would that bolt up and function on a '67-72? Even if it didn't work, I could think of several uses for it. Hmmm...

Not meaning to disagree with everyone here, but, I purchased a 72 that had a 60-66 style tailgate on it...looked a bit odd. It did fit, open, and closed..but body lines do not match at all...

'67 was the first year for the handle/linkage/latch like a door. That gate used chain,so you'd have to do latches inside the bed. Obviously,the body design was different.
