Timing

Ok so I gotta new question.

I just replaced my HEI dist. because the advance mechanism was stuck, and it was pretty rough anyways. Im trying to go manifold vacuum (it was ported before). I got the mech. adv. down solid. I believe it was 20 initial 32 total. Then I added the vacuum advance, and no matter how I adjust the can and the vacuum advance limiter, I cannot get it to idle smooth. Its not like jerking around, but idle in gear is a bit rough.

Any ideas?

Re: Timing

Also, maybe related, a weird, very intermittent buzzing/rubbing almost kinda sound started coming from it sounds like around the TC area? It only happens sometimes, usually at steady low speed or when accelerating

Re: Timing

Hook it up to ported.
How did you get 12 degrees in the mechanical set up?
Maybe 20 initial is too much.
