305e V6 Upper Radiator Hose Issue

I am looking for a upper radiator hose for my brother's (CherryBomber1969) 1969 GMC 305E V6. He blew the upper hose the other night and now we need to replace it. My biggest concern is that his is really two hoses joined by a metal pipe. Is this right? I would appreciate any input or or part number.

Sounds like a 4WD upper hose, only one I know that has a center metal pipe connector. Can't help you on a part number.

Re: 305e V6 Upper Radiator Hose Issue

All the '67-'69 V-6 GMC's had the 2 section upper hose with a pipe. I had a hard time finding the right hoses for mine, so I just used a flex hose and got rid of the pipe.

Can you take the metal piece to a muffler shop and have them make you up a new one?

I probably could but it isn't really the issue.

Autozone lists one. The part number is E70935. It's cut to fit but the store by my house has it in stock.

Just go to NAPA, CarQuest, or O'Rieleys that carry Gates hoses and get one. If they don't have it anymore take your old pieces and match them up in the back.

That hose is just the small section at the thermostat housing.

This is want I ended up doing. Hose E70735 ended up to be a close match for the top section. That number also cross referenced for the GM hose someone had put on there.
