drop spindle question

I bought a 65 burban that has crappy air suspension.. question is ... when I do my disc conversion will a 3" drop spindle be to much?

do not buy anything over 2 1/2 drop they will not mess up the geometry of the suspension and if you wont to go lower use springs to accomplish that.

I've used 2.5" and 3" drop spindles for years.
Either one will be fine.

depends on your wheel choice IMO.

larger wheels will work great with either, 15"X 8" wheels will rub on both but you can trim the LCA to work on the 2.5's or you can run 15X7" fronts like I do.

I'm running 15x8's on 2 1/2" drop spindles and didn't trim anything, depends on the backspacing.

2.5 and 3 inch drop spindles lower the advertised amount without affecting anything negatively. It's just a matter of which brand you choose and what configuration the manufacturer chose. I usually choose 3 inch if there's one for my application because its a free half inch of drop gained over 2.5 without having to take the height out of the springs.

Then its a matter of choosing a wheel with a moderate backspacing to clear the control arms. I just built a truck with 3 inch spindles, 2 inch springs for a total of 5 inch front drop and have no rubbing anywhere and needed no trimming anywhere. It's all about the backspace. In my case, a 6 inch front wheel with 3 inches of backspace.

My 2 1/2" spindles came from POL and I'm 99% sure the back spacing on my 15 x 8's is 4.5".

my truck has 2 1/2 spindle and 2 in. spring with 15x8 wheels 4.5 backspace no problems
