autometer gauges

Anyone ever took a 60-66 gauge cluster a part and added autometer gauges? If so could you post a link to how you done it or a site where someone eles did it.I took mine a part to clean it and paint it.the problem is not a single gauge in my 65 works.wouldn't it be badass to have the original cluster with all new modern gauges.I have some autometer phantom 2 series gsuges id like to try.I guess you would have to take a hole saw to it to install them???

Here is one of the autometer gauges I have.

Id like to upgrade all the 65s interior since its my daily driver.all the drive train is late model.the seat is late model.my radio and speakers are all new.My gears in my head are turning right now.I want all my interior to function like a late mode. look like a classic vehicle yet be comfortable and not let me down.I'm going to stick my phone to the window with one of the GPS apps that tell you you're speed.I can calculate my mpg's but my temp,oil psi and alt need to be spot on plus I want them to be bright enough for me to see them.anyways if you done any badass tricks/fab/custom interior mods or gauge mods please post some pictures and explain how you done it.Im also going to upgrade my headlights with something well bright.id like to do hids but im sure it would be costly.

Here is what I did I have to admit that only the Spedo and Fuel gauges are Autometer.
What I used:
Autometer speedo, and 30 ohm fuel gauges,
A Sunpro triple gauge kit.
Two green panel lights for the turn signals and a red one for the high beam indicator.
A piece of Masonite board ( peg board material with no holes)
Some scrap chrome sign vinyl.
Assorted wire terminals, holes saws and a jig saw.

How I did it:
1) I removed the original cluster and used it to make a template , then
used a jig saw to cut out the Masonite board
2) After deciding were I wanted to position the gauges I used the gauge panel as a template for the holes that need to be drilled for the volt,
temp, oil, and fuel gauges. The speedo cane with a template .
3) I used hole saws to cut the holes and a drill for the lights.
4) I covered the board with the sign vinyl and installed the gauges
5) Wire gauges and lights and install.
This was a temporary project that was done about 6 years ago. They work fine. I am only going to replace it because I got a killer deal on a billet panel insert. Hopes this helps

Here's a billet gauge panel cut out to bolt into your bezel--see the Ebay link. I just today put 6 St-Warner gauges in my '66 with a very similar panel.

Here's the instrument cluster for my '63...I copied the original speedometer opening dimensions and machined it and the gauge opening out of leftover aluminum sheet. I used leftover polycarbonate from my race car windows and cut a new lens. I did the numbers for the speedometer on my Illustrator program and had them cut out in vinyl.

I have not been very happy with my autometer gauges,i`am on my second elec speedo and clock within 30,000 miles

Here's mine for my 63. Autometer Old Tyme White, all electric. They're mounted in a piece of sheet metal painted my 2-tone color.
