Re: Removing oil pan

Last time I did it I unbolted the crossmember to slide it forward AND unbolted the engine mounts to jack the engine up. One thing to note - keep an eye on your distributor when you jack the engine up. If you have HEI, the cap will hit the firewall right away. A stock dizzy cap may also hit, but the valve cover may hit first. Remove the cap for a little more wiggle room.
