Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep that in mind. Planning on reusing the gasket currently on the cracked windshield this time...

Re: windshield install tips.

The key is to get a lockstrip tool, and use lots of soapy water/glass cleaner/etc. for lube. The chrome lockstrips seem to petrify in place, so plan on getting another one. The black ones seem to stay fairly pliable if you can score one from a junk yard.

Pull the lockstrip out, and put pressure on the windshield to help it from under the weatherstrip. Once it is out, clean the area up and set the bottom of the new windshield in. slowly work the edge of the gasket back around the new windshield. Pat the glass with an open palm- too much pressure will make it crack. You may have to work the top of the seal around the windshield, but make sure not to force anything. Gentle pressure and patience will get it done. Once the glass is in the seal, you just have to install the lockstrip.

Re: windshield install tips.

You could also cheat. And not re install the lock strip and drive it to a glass shop to install the lock strip. I broke a new windshield because of not having that tool...
