TH400 question

Have my transfer case off at the moment, went to clean off the mating surface on the adapter between transmission and TC, and looked inside the back of the transmission and noticed what looked to be cracks, like broken away like there enclosure from the governor and bottom of the output shaft of the transmission. Here are some pictures, Thanks!

Normal from the Casting Process, It was chipped away....Intentionally at a Foundry.

Back when they used to use manual labour in the manufacturing industry they did things like that

Thank god.. haha I looked in there with a flash light and almost had to change my pants.. haha Just spent $1000 on that tranny 2 years ago.. wasnt looking forward to doing it again! Thanks guys!!
