Post your Off year steering wheel pics?
I just saw another thread with a steering wheel out of a 60-64 ish Impala wheel and I thought how cool that looked. Can we see some other pics of off model wheels adapted to 67-72 trucks? Not billet wheels, but more stock Chevy steering wheels...? Also any with 67-67 wheels in a 69-72?

Re: Past your Off year steering wheel pics?
Here's one from a 92' GMC Safari and another one from an El Camino(?) I tried in the past. I believe the factory wheel is 17" in diameter and these are 15" so you pick up some leg room. As you can see my original wheel was sun-baked.

Every time I see your interior my heart sinks a bit. It's a very clean driver quality. I keep telling myself........ Eventually.

We have a early '80's Chevette wheel in our '67. I like the smaller wheel diameter. You get more room for getting in an out.

Re: Past your Off year steering wheel pics?
The 67/68 steering wheels are only correct in 67/68s,although they do look just as good in 69-72s. There are dozens of other GM steering wheels that won't crack that look fantastic. Later wheels don't crack at all. I like the '60s car wheels with horn rings or Comfort Grips (sport wheels). I have a Malibu wheel for my '67 project (& a 67/68 alternate). I have a saddle 4-spoke for my '72 as an alternate. Last year I came across a really nice original saddle wheel and am running that for now

Re: Past your Off year steering wheel pics?
I don't have a finished project yet. This was a test of what a Chevette (I'm told it's Chevette) steering wheel would look like in the cab.

60-66 truck wheel, with a 67 truck horn cap. I like the 2 spoke design of the wheel over the 3 spoke design of the 67/68 wheels.

Re: Past your Off year steering wheel pics?
Some earlier car and truck steering wheels are the same with different horn rings/shrouds/buttons.

Re: Past your Off year steering wheel pics?
Here is my 69 Chevelle SS wheel I did. I bought it off e-bay and then re did it. I installed all new horn stuff and center cap. It works great. It's the same size as the truck wheels. I put pipe insulation around it then covered it with a leather wrap myself. I think it turned out great. My old corvette wheel.

Re: Past your Off year steering wheel pics?
This is a terrific thread ! back in the 1960's it was *very* common to put a Passenger Car steering wheel on your old truck .
The cool thing is : GM used the same spline and off set back into the 1940's . I'm looking for a two spoke , 1/2 horn ring steering wheel for my '69 C/10 now , not sure what year /model but I'll know when I see it .

Good thread, I had to check it out. Tim you know I'm a steering wheel junky!
I'll see if I can dig up some pics from trucks of the past later.

Re: Past your Off year steering wheel pics?
Thanks you guys...now only if I had said POST your pictures instead of PAST .....lots of great pics keep them coming. Going to have to make a decision soon! Kind of leaning towards the stock Camaro wheel, but pretty hard to bet the stock 67-68 wheel. It looks RIGHT at home.....

I love the Vette rosewood wheels, not too keen on the price of those suckers though.
