will it work

I found a 1973 C10 Cheyenne at the scrap yard and I took the power steering gear box, Pitman arm and the steering shaft. The question I have is will the shaft fit in my 1963 C10 if I take the old shaft out. I will be ordering a adapter plate from Captain Fab once I get the rest of the components for power steering. I was just wondering about the steering shaft fitting. Thanks

Re: will it work

I just cut and welded the shaft on the 2 I did (1/2 63, the other 73-87), captian fab has an adapter for the shaft as well... I don't think the stock 73-87 is the right length, so you are going to have to change it anyway...

Re: will it work

Get the adapter whe n you order your plate. Cut the end of your stock shaft off, weld the adapter on and done

Re: will it work

You should be able to make the steering shaft work, if you have the means to do it. The tube and flange I sell is only $20.00 when purchased with the adapter plate. It depends on how much time you want to spend on it.
