I finally found my GM extinguisher

After a few years scouring Ebay, Craigslist and constantly bugging forum members I finally got one for my 62 Suburban and it only cost me $25! Now the big question is do I just use it or refurbish it first? It is so weird that I have been looking for soooo long and to have it now I feel a little lost when I am on Ebay or other places?!?!

Re: I finally found my GM extinguisher

You drive up the price on ebay on the extinguisher that I was bidding on , now you find one with a bracket for $25.00. Way to go ( ad curse words here! ) lol. I to am debating how to finish the extinguisher. I`ve repainted everything else on the truck so I think It`s gonna get repainted and buffed.

I do however have an extra NOS Recharge Kit that I picked up in Carlisle. If your interested, I`ll mail it off to you, I still have your address.

Could you share the codes stamped into the top of the extinguisher, please.

Good for you! I know the satisfaction of looking for something so long it begins to seem impossible to find.

Re: I finally found my GM extinguisher

Thanks everyone for the good wishes.
Aerotruk if you could keep me in the loop how you are re-doing yours I would be very interested. Thinking along the same lines with all the work being done on the truck it would be nice to have this cleaned up as well.
The numbers on the truck are...BTW not sure if the 1's are single line capital I's.
(EH) 1CC-4B240 025 H1 6 62 or (EH) ICC-4B240 025 HI 6 62
Do you know how it translates?
Also wanted to let you know you are a class act with all your support on finding this. I am definitely interested in the NOS recharge kit. Send me a message and tell me how much and your PayPal so I can get it out. Also my address has changed so I will send that over.

I think it's the thrill of the search, Just like going to a junk yard,Just something about it. Like a kid in a candy store.

That's exactly what I think Randy. I had to take it off the table 3 times last night and show it to my wife each time like it was the first time. She was very gracious because she knows how into the search I was.

Re: I finally found my GM extinguisher

I would take it to your local extinguisher shop and see if they will service it for you and get it charged up..

Great looking find for sure!!

Re: I finally found my GM extinguisher

That's awesome!
I would absolutely love some more pics of the bracket.
I've got a few extinguisher brackets here, but none of them fit my small AutoZone extinguisher, or the slightly larger extinguishers I can get at Tractor Supply, etc.
I want to modify them to make them work on the smaller extinguishers.
I particularly like the small cup around the base.

Re: I finally found my GM extinguisher

See mine has 61 on it as yours has 62. I would imagine that's the manufacturing date. Your bracket is painted?
Send me your new address and I'll ship the NOS recharge kit. The guy I bought it from would only sell both he had together. Make a donation to "Zanes Ride" Childrens Wish Foundation, for any amount, instead of paying me.

Re: I finally found my GM extinguisher

Great find, I am glad you finally got one !

I am curious as to where GM actually mounted it in a truck cab and in the Suburban ??
