59 Chevy frame swap

Ok I haven't been on in a while because I sold my 67. I found one hell of a deal on a 59 1/2 ton Apache swb step side. I've done a little research and I see people talking about doing a frame swap from a s-10 but I was told that a frame out of a late 70's to early 80's frame would work with little work. I just wanted to get opinions on what would be the easiest? Thanks for the help!

72 c10 frame. May have to do a bit more research on the front weel offset. Im going to run a skinnier tire but these tires were just to get it rolling around.

Re: 59 Chevy frame swap

you could use an S10, but you'll have to shorten the frame, make up or modify all your cab mounts, raise your bed floor and use spacers to move your wheel out further.
The 73-87 chassis will work but the track width is much wider than stock which means you can't lower it a great deal. EZ Chassis Swaps make a kit to adapt the 55-59 body onto a 73-87 Chassis.
Or you can put it on a car chassis like a Caprice.

Personally, if your frame is in good shape, I'd buy a 2md generation Camaro and weld on the front clip from it

use the stock frame and modify it, is the easiest and usually the least costly.
all new mustII, 40 yr old camero clip or lots of other options up front.
flipped axle on stock springs, 4 bar, 3 bar w/ panhard or lots of options out back.
either one is easier than a frame swap and your much more likely to finish it.

read some of the builds here, most tf truck builds have the stock frame under them.
