I might be interested if you change your mind on shipping. but it will be at least a month before I have room in my budget.

Re: GMC tailgate

I guess I would ship it but I think it would be very expensive unless I put it on gray hound. What would be the best way to pack it maybe wrap it in cardboard?

Re: GMC tailgate

the best way is to build a crate from 1"x4" and plywood. but that is expensive and I wouldn't bother unless it was a NOS or like new take off gate.
I have gotten 2 fleetside gates shipped to me. one was wrapped in 2 layers of carpet pad and then cardboard.
the other used 1" Styrofoam insulation on all 6 sides and then plastic wrapped, duct taped and boxed.
both worked very well but I think the carpet pad would be easier and cheaper.
lots of carpet pad around here on trash days but never any sheets of insulation.

looking at the stepper gate - maybe a filler between the box/pad and the GMC panel would be needed.
hope I was helpful
good luck with the sale
