Not a problem! The biggest thing with choosing a cam is totally dependant on what rearend and converter you are planning on running. A cam too big for the gears and converter will likely slow down the truck from where you are now. Any cam with bigger than 220-225 duration @ .050" starts getting into the arena of needing a small converter, especially with power brakes. That just a general guideline, but its pretty accurate. You are able to get away with a little in a 383 than you would a smaller cube SBC.

If you can get your heads flowing in 230 cfm range (which is pretty easily doable) and upgrade the cam, you can get to 400 HP fairly easy with the stuff you have.
