Re: Why can't I find a 1 ton dually 4x4 locally?

Somehow I forgot all about this one. It is in the same town that I live in. He wants more than I will give for it though. Here is a thread that has some pics of it.

Looks nice. That might be my go to vehicle if Dooley's doesn't pan out. He said he will be available after the 15th of this month so we will see.

WOW! Those are nice! And he wants a pretty penny for them as well. Seem to be way overpriced. Definitely out of my range, plus the shipping kills these for me. I should be looking at Dooley's truck soon.

I met this guy today, and looked at his trucks. Great guy, these are not trucks he his just flipping, they are his toys he has collected. Yes, they might be priced a little high, but he is actually building a shop.

Are going to be owning the SRW truck? Looks like a clean one.

One of the things that is going to allow me to spend some bucks like that is if the wiring if basically untouched. I hate digging into a truck or car after twenty people have had their hands on it and did things their way. Other than looking at the body, underneath the truck and frame I look under the dash for wiring.

I have not witnessed these trucks first hand but they do look like they are in pretty good shape. He has paint and wheels on a few of them so that adds some dollars as well as the interiors look pretty nice. Alot nicer than any truck I have ever looked at in my area. I know what I have in my shortbed restoration so far and that doesn't include my labor. These trucks are not restored to my knowledge but do look to be mint. Sure you can find them cheaper in some places but these 4x4 RC tons are getting harder to find. Its not like my short bed where there are alot more of them.

His prices are high but I think you would be hard pressed to find four to match these for cheap. JMO. A split window vette I believe cost around $4300 new but yet they run from 100k and up. I would not pay that for one but its only worth what one is willing to pay. Some will pay more and some less.

Re: Why can't I find a 1 ton dually 4x4 locally?

Aside from the wheels on the duallys, these were some great original survivors. Not hacked up, not beat up. No, they were not perfect, but in great original shape. The white one he restored, it was very slick.

The single wheel was just the unrestored all original type I'm looking for. Not the colors I wanted, if we can make a deal I would like to have it.

These 1 ton trucks are not cheap or easy to find in this condition
