Need help on 1 sus. prob. and 1 engine prob.

Hey guys, I'm having a couple little issues. 71 C-10 longbed 350 motor from a 90 GMC with the 90 serpentine setup. Now, on this untouched setup I have noticed that my serp belt is beginning to walk off the back of the ps pump pulley by 1 groove or so. Never noticed this before, but that's not to say it wasn't a present issue, I just never noticed it. However, all the parts look original and line up, so I can't imagine why it isn't lining up now. I am at work and haven't checked the ps pump for pulley play, but I haven't heard any bearing noises.

Issue 2, I cut one coil off my front springs last week and put air bags on the rear. I have yet to air the rear bags up, but when moving the truck around in the garage (with it running) it felt like the front steering was tighter than before I dropped it, and the driveshaft almost feels like it's binding. The truck is NOT sitting on the bump stops, as I have the little load helper half leaf springs. The rear axle is about 3 or so inches off the frame and with the bags in place, it really doesn't even sit on those. Should I have modified something in there that I missed? Is it possible that my front ball joints may have been too damaged by the pickle fork?? Would the ball joints being tight make it that noticible with the power steering? Could the change o the rear geometry with the suspension dropped be pushing my driveshaft into my tranny tail housing too much, causing it to bind? I'm running a TH350 for now. I plan on swapping to a 700r4 and a 2 piece d/s when the money fairy comes to visit.

Could be a shot serpentine belt.. even the tensioner. (likely the belt) Depending on how much you dropped/slammed it... ensure your splined slip joints on your driveshaft/tailshaft arent bottomed out

If you jack up the rear frame and watch the drive shaft yoke where it enters the tranny... you may be able to see where the old seal was riding. If you,re way past it.. its likely your issue

Pinion angle vs tranny output yoke angle also can play a part in binding... should be fairly close to eachother

On the belt, check your tensioner pulley. I replace those every three years no matter how many miles are on it.

Tension pulley most likely. Time for it's replacement. Parts at your local parts store are readily available. While you are there grab a replacement belt as a spare for when you are away from home turf.
