Steering Column opions help

Well I have steering column in my 65 that I really do not like. Not sure what it come out of. I really want to replace it without spending an arm and a leg for one. The current one I have in has the ignition on the column that is not used. I want to keep the ignition on the dash. I have found plenty of columns but are around 500 bucks really do not want to spend that. And it seems every time I find one I am too late and it gets sold. I really do not care about tilt just want a nice column that will not be hard to wire up and cost a lot. I know I am asking a lot but any suggestions would be awesome.

Re: Steering Column opions help

I may be wrong on years, but a Chev/GMC passenger van column from about 1968 to around 1980 works quite well in these. They do not have the key on column, and are column shift(auto) with tilt available.
$500 is too much to pay for a column.
There's also a guy named Kevin on here that builds a lot of columns with a great reputation. kevKlassics I think is the name. Hopefully someone will chime in and verify the correct one.

Don't overlook the 69-74(maybe even wider # of years)motor homes, usually 30-series. Also, it's not too hard to grind off key-housing and use body filler/paint to modify a column with key made into it like yours.
