Re: Show off your Wheels

Great looking wheel combo's every one! I like blackwalls and here is about as low-buck of a new set of tire and wheels that is possible -LOL! The wheels are the original ones from my '70 GMC Jimmy, hubcaps from a late 80's S-15 scavenged from a crusher pile and the trim rings robbed from a '91 Sonoma I have. Primewell tires cost me 235 bucks and I mounted and balanced them myself with old equipment at work.

Great looking wheels guys, keep them coming! You can never look at too many wheels or trucks for that matter This is the kind of stuff that inspired me to get my own project. Thanks for taking the time to show off your wheels. Much appreciated.

Re: Show off your Wheels

mine are 18" X 7.5" wide (40mm reverse offset) I needed this offset for the front, but it puts the backs in too far. I found it hard to find wheels I liked that came in two different offsets (that weren't outragous in price)

Re: Show off your Wheels

i found this site with this info, thought it would help.
rimsntires.com/specspro
go to size comparer under tools on the left side of page, you can mess with the rim tire and offsets .

Re: Show off your Wheels

15x7 old school Torq Thrust knockoffs. No markings on the back so I have no idea whose they are. Scored all four off Craigslist for $160 so I'm not complaining. My tires are take offs from CL again, $60 for brand new tires! Pretty pleased I'm all in for $220. Tires are 235/75's but I'm okay with that for now.

Damn, I don't know why Photobucket sometimes flips my photos upside down. I edit them and sometimes they show up right, sometimes not.

Thanks so much. As you can see in the top vs. bottom photo the guy I bought them from put some kind of coating on them to preserve them. It kept the spokes from aluminum corrosion - good. But also left the lip very dull - bad. I have been trying to get it off by running the truck on jack stands and sanding with fine grit paper. It has worked but only to a degree. Whatever the coating is, it's tough!
