Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Looks perfect. Let me know if I'm off base, but it seems the best way is to mount the inside of the bumper first, snug, not tight............line up the outer brackets, then tighten it all down.
Have to admit I butchered my rear bumper along time ago. Something wasn't right. When I tightened it down the brackets bent the bumper in places (whoops). Can't/won't happen again. I figure the brackets weren't positioned right.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Well, I'm currently in "ID that wire" mode for under the hood. Honestly, those who altered some things did a sloppy job, so I'm rebutting a few lines so they route correctly, even though its all going to be pulled and replaced. I'll have plenty good questions about what's correct Vs what's wrong................Will save that until after I ID what goes to what and where.
On a side note, the more "exposure" the more I realize there's really not much to the wiring. At least not on these trucks. That said, I haven't dove into the LH dash panel yet. ![]()

More progress completed on the wood for the bed today. Routing and final sanding done - ready to apply the stain. Going for a reddish brown final color.

Minor upgrade last night. Lost the rusty chrome cover and installed this stock restore. New gear oil and found out I have 3:08 gearing

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Received the two emblems in the rear today. The chrome on the second from the rear would be flawless if not for one small scratch in the upper right on the 2nd zero. The one in the rear is pitted. Per E-bay seller, "no pits". That's okay, the good one is worth what I paid for both, so no complaint here.
The two in front came off the truck, and until tonight haven't been washed in 20 years. They're real good, the one in front a 99%er. Can't say I'm dissatisfied with these either. Anyway, no big deal......."baby steps". ![]()

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Pulled off the passenger side valve cover and found the #8 intake pushrod with one end ground off and the rocker arm all wollered out. Only a couple hours on my first top-end, I thought for sure I was free and clear and nailed it first try

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Front looks good for 3" drop, 1 coil isn't bad but 2 coils is to much for the spring, nicer as you did to replace w drop coil..

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Aside from some block sanding (along with the rest of the truck) I finally wrapped this hood up... so glad that's behind me....
