Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Actually did some of this stuff on my vacation in late Dec. New tilt steering column and steering wheel happened this weekend. Cut a coil or so off the front and back springs to get a lowered look (I know its not right but funds are low right now so it will do for now). Repainted the front grill and cleaned it up a bit a few weeks back as well. I must say for me and my truck its a love and hate relationship. I change/fix one thing and then something else breaks and pi**es me off. Currently cant drive truck cause I dont have brake lights. That's another post. LOL.
Before is top picture and after is the bottom. ![]() Mike |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Bought this to flip to help pay for fixing up my truck. Also stripped the dash pad to recover. Got some of the blood part of the sweat and tears.
Dash pad is a pain in the backside to remove. ![]() |

I love this thread btw. It's the best place to find folks with active builds!
I tack welded the bolts on my headers for the LS swap. I hate trying to use 2 wrenches to tighten up an exhaust pipe...now I have studs!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Got a new set of 22s for free so I thought i'd see how they look. Still not 100% sold on them but for now they'll stay. Also got my air ride set up done in the rear. Now to tackle the front.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Maybe the 22's will be a better fit when aired down, they do stand out right now but covered a bit when dropped may fit better for your liking, still better than the old rims so winning.
Mudman.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Two projects over the last two weeks. I finally got that Vintage Air kit in and I put in a Retro Sound stereo with powered sub, four component speakers and power amp.
Boy is it tight under that dash now, but I finally have have air and nice sound. I wonder how much I increased the value by doing those two things? Hopefully more than I paid. After all I did the labor myself. ![]() ![]() |

I like the routing for the lines. Nice engine covers too, the 2 tone looks great!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Actually all last week I pulled the front clip to access the heater box, got a leaky core, and yanked the engine trans to correct a vibration I've been fighting for a year. The flex plate has a wobble and the rear of the crank is suspect since I've tried three plates. So the engine is getting a new crank and bearings. The engine is a GM crate and I'm going to call and complain but I'm thinking my words will fall on deaf ears since the engine's been in service for that long.
