Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Looked at Raymond sitting in the garage getting more and more pissed about the little body work things that the body shop screwed up... if it weren't for the little screw ups I could have this painted long ago... Also looked at Haulin in the driveway dead to the world... I have a short somewhere that keeps draining the battery and I haven't found it yet...

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Got a fresh Turbo 350 installed in Kazoo this weekend, and while off last week, installed a complete set of XRF balljoints. The joints are super nice, maybe better than Moog. The have a million-mile warranty and were a breeze to install.
Need an alignment and a pair of tires before winter, thats next.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Started working on the truck body today to see if there was any shine left. Used polishing compound and wax jus around the hood and gas cap. Up close you can see the fine cracks and scratches. Gives it character, I mean it ain't no show truck. Lol just my daily driver

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Got it way up on stands today to start mocking up this exhaust. I put the tail pipes in and realized I needed the bumper on it so out it came.
I sure will need some cutting and welding. But it's all good I can make it work. Sorry dude I forgot too get the part # today. Anyway it is a heart throb square body exhaust for those who want too know. An since I was under there I took a few pics of the underneth as dusty an dirty as it can be. U can see my do not disturb mufflers. And my custom crossmember. It seems I found a new avatar for now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Well I got this far an that was the easy part.
I need to get gas for mr. Miller today I might have enough for a few more tacks. The tail pipes are not gonna be fun. But i do have 2 pcs of 3" x 24" long ss tubing that I'll make tips with. Wish I would've pulled the bed off before starting oh well. Nice steering wheel.i like it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Yhea it will be. The intermediate pipes pretty much fell into place I might need a lil' shortening yet. I have 67-69 camaro/68-74 Nova headers on my bb. They fit pretty good except they exited rite on a oe truck auto c member. So I made one. They don't hang below the frame. Oh an the z bar needed a lil modding. The tail pipes is where the "cutting and welding" part comes into play. The ps isn't too bad but the ds. Is tight

Where did you get the hood to cowl seal. I cant seem to get mine to lay down and it keep keeps the hood lines out of place.

From classic industries, lays down perfect and has the correct holes and ridges.

100 bucks worth of electrical components, wires, plastic wiring retainers, spark plug wires, glove box, and finally wire gutters.
And I have not even scratched the surface. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Pulled mine outside and listened too the exhaust and let it warm up a lil'. Sounds great. It's a lil' loud for my likeing. But it's ok.
I still need to make the exshaut tips. The kid an I both have dual snorkel z28 air cleaners. His was a $5.jy find that I gave him, and mine was a $25.swap meet find. Except I didn't get a lid. So I reused my other lid. I plan on removing the useless stuff on mine and blasting and paint but it's ok for now. The kid is good with his the way it is only he wants to get rid of the 5.0. I so I took both and swapped snorkels. His now has two straight snorkels. And mine has two angled snorkels. Looks much better. Here's some b4 and after pics.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I forgot to include a few "outside" pics.
We all like pics. And one at the end of the nite changing oil on the kids truck. I thought this pic was pretty cool looking with 2 67's in the garage.

![]() I finally figured out how to attach pics again, I'm not much of a computer guy. So after 4 months at the paint shop it is finally getting close. This is the first tinted bed liner this shop has done and I love the way it turned out! The under bed gas tank was installed Friday and it is finally moving on its own again. The paint shop hopes to reassemble the rest and do some touch up this week and then I can bring it home and install all the goodies the UPS driver has been dropping off at the house! |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I clear coated my inner grill today. It's not perfect, but considering what I had to paint it with (spray paint) and how bad it looked "before," I am happy.
I had a few runs.....I think once I get the NOS emblem on and polished outer grill, also the grill guard, no one will notice. |
