Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Well, to make a long story short, I wasn't going to do a build thread because of the amount of days I work out of state. (It would get pretty boring 1-2 days of progress every month) I'm finally getting some motivation this winter, this is going to be the tail end of the build. I bought the truck about 2 1/2 years ago from a buddy that has a restoration shop here local. A lot of the "hard" work was already finished. The cab and frame was blasted and painted when I got it. Was originally a stepper but its going to be a fleet side now, thanks to Southern Kentucky Classics.... I will post pics of what's already done and keep up with the updated work. I just want to thank all you guys that have answered any questions I may have posted in the last couple years. This forum has been my
"Go To" place for info, ideas, and of course answers. I think it's an addiction!!!! Here we go

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Here's the inside last winter when I worked on the wiring. I used AAW complete wiring kit, I also installed Dakota VHX gauges, Old Air Products A/C, and used a raw steel Ididit column and clear coated the bare steel. I have a nice set of buddy buckets to go in that I bought from Scott Duckworth.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
More progress today, got the brake lines finished, power steering hoses back from the hydraulic shop and fit good. Had all my a/c lines mocked up last weekend, got them back from getting ends crimped and installed. My buddy painted the inner fenders last week and we put them on today. Hopefully start hanging sheetmetal next.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Took measurements today for the drive shaft so Monday before I leave for work I'll drop off the yoke and u-joint at the drive line shop. Hopefully when I get home the ole girl will move on her own will. After 2 1/2 years of setting in the garage this will be an exciting milestone.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Thanks Scott, I'm not sure about all this "black"..... If you breathe on it wrong it looks terrible.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Bed looks like it fit together pretty nice, BrianK posted he was very impressed with the bed he bought from Southern Kentucky Classics too. Have you had a chance to fit the tailgate yet ? I'm going to buy a aftermarket gate but don't want to have to send it back due to it not fitting great.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Great looking truck, I love the black and the big block. That bed from SOKY looks very nice, I'm going to be buying a complete bed from them as well but with a wood floor. Also interested in how you think the bed fit and like Scott I would like to know how the tailgate fits. I don't mind having to tweak a little cause it sure does beat fixing rust.
