87 front clip on a 74 cab help?

Hey guys I am putting a clean 87 front clip on a 1974 4X4 truck. I remember a post that I can't find about this modification. I know the front frame horns have to be cot and I will need 87 wiper arms and I would need to modify the hood springs. Any help would be great pics would be super. thanks Rick

Cut a hole on top of th cowl for the hood hinges

I am in the process of doing a similar swap. I have cut my cowl for the hinges but waiting on my buddy with the welder to help me finish. I have a picture of what I have done but I dont know how helpful it will be.

As I said in my earlier post, this was just my initial cut. I am waiting on my buddy to come weld the piece of plate I need to bolt the hinges to. After that I may have to cut more once I get the front clip back on and start messing with hood adjustment.

Theres a writeup somewhere on the 'net. It has dimensions for the hinge cuts and body mount moves and really good pictures. I'll see if I can find it again.

id like to go the other way. i think other than bumper brackets needing fabbed up its all bolt on on the older fronts.
