'86 front end swap
Ok rolling an '86 front end crossmember and all under a 65 Chevy frame will it sit the same height as stock or will it sit higher? Thanks in advance.

Can you do me a favor and take a few pics of the process? I am looking at an 83 crossmember today for my 61. As for ride height, I know mine will be higher cause I have the torsion bar setup and it is slammed in the front and probably worn out. Not sure for a 65.

The basic geometry of the front end will not alter ride height.
However things like the spring rates will. If your donor is a HD model, it may be higher. But that is easily remedied by ordering springs for the new FE and installing them. OR Install your old springs (or replacements) in the new FE. If you are concerned about it being different, just bolt the '86 components to your '65 crossmember. |

It going to be a while before anything happens because we just found a buyer for our house so I'm losing my garage, but my 65 GMC is sitting on an 86 frame right now so I have everything I need to do the swap and I just bought a 65 Chevy frame to swap under it.
