who's purchased them? did you get the original style or the cheaper ones? Quality?

I am putting my pickup all back together and am replacing all the stuff that's missing ie: glove box, hoses, pass mirror, etc...

LMC was selling the plastic ones. We sell the OE Cloth type. WES

the plastic ones will hold up for 30 plus years, but they are a pain in the 12 bilt to route. Plus they will push the defroster vents up out the dash.
I have them in the one ton, won't get them again.

I just installed some from Classic Parts of America. $14.95 They were the cloth type. Installed and works great.
It's one of those things I started replacing the radio with one of their after market AM/FM with iPod connection. Once I started taking things out things just started to crumbled.
The heater hoses, the glove box and while I was replacing the glove box I thought I would put a new cigarette lighter in, so I can run my GPS.
Also, put in a glove box light, that's nice to have.

I got all new heater and AC hoses from LMC and opted for the plastic ones. I had nearly everything out from under the dash and its a real pain to get it all routed as they do not compress at all. I ended up leaving a couple out as it was such a pain. If I did it again I would avoid the hard plastic ones and get the cloth. Just my 2 cents...

I got the oe style from LMC and didn't have any issues with them.They get a bad rap on here,but the few things that I have bought from them,were fine.I haven't had to use the costumer service dept.though,and just from ordering a few smaller items from them can tell that the people who work there don't really know these trucks.

I also put in a set of the plastic ones and they are so rigid that they push the defroster vents up so the vents wont stay seated in the dash. I will be replacing them with the OE style.

I got the plastic ones form LMC, and I really like them. As for pushing the vents up, I haven't had that problem, and I also made sure the little tabs where still there to hold them down. Also helps to have someone pushing down on the vents while you work the hose on so you don't break them off. I'm going to buy another set for the burb.

last time i bought the cloth ones they where $69.00 the plastic ones are 14.00 to 20.00 www.truckandcarshop.com will not buy from Lmc shipping is out right bogus

oldgold70c10 - do you still have the factory radio, AC/heater control and wiper motor in the original positions on the dash ? It was near impossible for me to get all the plastic tubes routed with these in place. Was there any tricks you used that you could pass on for others wanting to do this ? I thought about using a hairdryer to heat the tubes to make them more pliable but never tried it.

I used the cloth ones when i replaced mine, were a real pain to get on. Ended up using a heat gun set on low, then i was able to get them to side on

I know this is an older post, but I just received my new defrost/AC hoses from classicparts.com & I got all 6 pieces for $49.95 & they are the OE cloth style, not plastic. And a lot cheaper than LMC, they want $79.95 for their OE style hoses. My old ones were just like others on here, they too disintegrated when I touched em'.

I got just the cloth type defrost hoses from Wes at classic parts for about $14 plus ship. They are a bit tacky but i found that a little talcum powder helps then slide right on.

I bought the plastic set from "Classic" and had no problems, But as "oldgold70" stated, "it helps to have a second set of hands to hold down your defrost vents. I did block off the drivers side of the center dash vent. in a reg cab truck I saw no need to have 2 tubes for 1 vent, it just cramps it up more behind the dash IMO. I too started with the radio and everything seemed to decentigrade very quickly, so along with the vent tubes came the glove box. I also installed min in the summer heat and sun, so if your installing in a cold environment, a heat gun or hair dryer will help a great deal
