Re: Gauge's, Cluster's, and Dash'es

This is also a simple approach. The three pics were at different stages of playing with the dash rebuild.

The first is the mock-up with the aftermarket tach slipped into the back of the whole works. That required cutting the plastic "window"
in half before reassembly. I used the tach's clear window and pushed the complete assy all the way in....trimmed it with 10g white wire.
The white faces are just an application of those stickers that are available on the web.

The second shot is the driver's view thru the wheel with the new bezel. I don't have a mechanical choke, so I bolted on a shaft from the inside
to thread a matching faux knob. Although I don't drive much at night, I replaced all the center bulbs (not the turn signals) in the dash with yellow LED's.

The third is a shot of the "finished" set up from the passenger side with an insert I made from contact material I stuck on a glove graciously contributed
by RenoKeene. I may still put a clock in the port on the lower right next to the steering column. Don't know.

This is a low buck, high time set up....I'm retired, so that fits with my resources...That is, I have lots of time and no....well, you get it.

Here's a silly video of some earlier work on the dash, etc.:
And I meant, "....got the glove box painted....".

Re: Gauge's, Cluster's, and Dash'es

Haven't done anything special to mine just yet. I just started tackling the interior this past weekend.

I did however replace the bulbs with LEDs. Made a huge difference.

PM me if you want me to P-Shop the set up for you. You can send some pics of the gauges and bezel, and tell me where you want to put 'em in the bezel.

Since that's a pretty easy one, I bet I can show you what they'll look like within 2% of "real".

For The Truck Forum Guys - YouTube

I am so stealing your center piece idea. That solves the issue of having a double din nav unit without cutting the dash. Would you happen to have a write up of how you did it?

I had never thought of using a glove box door as a gauge panel... I will have to find one to set mine up. The Equuis gauges are much more affordable, and rather well built. I have two in my Hardbody for oil pressure and coolant temp, and they work great, only issue I have is the available sizes compared to the factory sizes. Using a glovebox door solves that.
