Factory stripe/molding placement book?

Years ago, I worked at a dealership in the body shop and we had a book that gave dimensions for replacing stripes, emblems and moldings on the body but can't find any reference to it online. It had all the measurements as per oem specs. I can't even remember what it would be called...
Anybody seen one or have one? Specifically the '89-91 R,V trucks.
Looking to replace all trim when my truck goes in for paint in a few months but want to get in the right spot. Don't really trust the body shop to put it back right.
Thanks very much in advance!

Re: Factory stripe/molding placement book?

I would presume that would be an assembly manual. The one I have for my 70 Olds has that info for stripes for it.

Re: Factory stripe/molding placement book?

I've got what's supposed to be a 1982 factory assembly manual. It's a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy sold for an extortionate price by the manual mafia on eBay. I haven't scanned it because it was such a poor copy.
I don't know if any others have survived or any other years.

Thanks fellas!
That's it! Assembly manual...now why couldn't I remember that? Geez...
Now to find one sounds like a real problem.

Re: Factory stripe/molding placement book?

After thinking about it, it's not the assembly manual.
It was like this but for trucks:

Had all the crash parts, stripes, paint codes and emblems & where to put them.
Maybe I'll buzz by the dealership tomorrow and see what they got.

I've only ever seen those for the Passenger cars after 1972. Do they exist for the 1973 and later trucks or were they aftermarket by Mitchell etc?

Re: Factory stripe/molding placement book?

Hmm...Mitchell manuals. Forgot about those. I'll check on that.
I'm going back over 25yrs so I'm drawing a blank and it's really is bugging me!
I need to get to the local dealership I deal with and see what bodyshop manager can tell me.
