Talking Changing my 67 away from the stock look for 2014

I have had my 67 now for 8 years I rebuilt it in 07 just fixed it stock and have drove the wheels off it since ! I have had a lot of fun out of the truck and now the paint is getting older and im gonna have some fun with it ! I lowered the truck last fall and im gonna try some different things gonna go with a shop truck theme and change some things interior wheels tires hubcaps this and that speed shop logo on the doors and have some fun with it ! I have thought a lot about the wheels and I just cant go the 20" wheels but will change it up a bit with tires and hubcaps I think , I hope to have some fun with it , Id kinda like to have another truck to leave stock like a 67 cst ? Anyway im looking forward to spring we have had a lot of cold weather this winter and I dont know about you but im ready for spring !

Re: Changing my 67 away from the stock look for 2014

You know back when I was a kid some AMT model car kits came 3 in 1. You could build it stock, drag or custom or mix it. I saved all my extra parts and after a while I'd change them up a bit. One vehicle, different looks.
There's nothing saying you can't do the same with your trucks. I say go for it.

I too, think your truck is one of the best looking rides on the forum...because of the stock look.

But, she is yours and you obviously know how to build a good looking truck, I wish you luck with your new direction/vision...plus, you can alway switch it backif it doesnt turn out like you want.

Oh man, I also love your truck because of the all stock look. I really like the black with painted bumpers and hub caps. But I can see how after 8 years you might be ready for a change. A logo on the door would look cool

Re: Changing my 67 away from the stock look for 2014

If it was me,which it isn't,I'd consider leaving the same look, except pro-street with a thumper under the hood. Getcha some deep/wide steel wheels made to mount the caps. Maybe even less narrow axle/greater backspace wheels so the dish isn't so deep to give it away...from the side.

But I like your ideas, too. Purple metalflake with lavender velvet interior and gold wire wheels will look great!

Ok,don't mind me. I see where you're going with it. I'm reading your mind and you're thinking some vintage mags from off the imaginary shelf of that imaginary speed shop.

You spoke of Spring, is this the large coiled thingy in the back of my clock? Or do you mean when every pic on the weather channel does not include that white powdery stuff on the ground? I too wish to see it soon. Will be watching to see what you come up with.

Re: Changing my 67 away from the stock look for 2014

i agree with everyone else i've allways liked your truck just the way it was but when you said you were gonna lower it i knew change was comeing.

the tipical door logo's are kinda played out if you ask me. it seems everyone that has one puts it rite smack center of the door.i guess its the classic look/placement for a logo. just seems "been done". dont get me wrong i like the logo idea but a new idea for placement would be really cool.

a few weeks ago i was feeling sorry for all the groundhawgs i've pounded with lead out in the pastures......not anymore.
that white stuff around here is hard as a rock and not going anywhere soon.

I guess to be honest ive just got tired of the truck being the same , I love these old trucks and I like the stock theme very much , but just gonna have some fun here ! In all honesty I just want some change , how many others would ride a truck stock hieght for 7 years ? Most on here that buy a truck and post the LOOK AT MY NEW TRUCK pics 3 days after they got it and most of the time they have already lowered it for those first pics ,,, another thing is ive had fun working on my sons 68 too he likes the patina look ,,,,, its a hobby , and any time I want I can change it any way I want ,,

What about changing to chrome bumpers, chrome hubcaps, and adding body side moldings? That would look nice also

Re: Changing my 67 away from the stock look for 2014

I like everything you're planning except the door logo. Even if the paint isn't perfect, it will still have the patina vibe and will look great. A set of wide rims and tires on the rear with the hubcaps totally changes the look of these trucks. Changing up the steering wheel like you showed and maybe even the white top that you talked about would look great, but the door logo doesn't look good on a shiny truck, IMO.

That is just my opinion and it is your truck, so you have the right to tell me to shut up -lol, but that's just my 2 cents, FWIW.

31 years here...but I have thought about lowering it.

I kinda agree about the door sign thing...I have seen a few that look good, but for the most part they just look "fake"...which they are, unless it is an old survivor work truck.

Have you thought about owning 2 truck?
