Vegas to Riverbank and back

Im making a run tomorrow from Vegas to Riverbank CA (Stockton area) to pick up a stepside bed for my 71 project from a board member. Ive never been north of Bakersfield. Is there any speed traps I should be aware of, cool places to eat or stop along the way or any cool scrap yards that need to be picked?? Thanks to all you Californians.

Riverbank is the town next to me. It's small and the cops have nothing better to do than hand out tickets. Drive the speed limit and you'll be fine. No good scrap yards around here. El Rosal is a good Mexican food place in riverbank. On a map Riverbank looks close to Stockton, but it's still a good 40 min north. There's all kinds of construction on I5 and 99. I would take 99 north if you are coming up California and not through Nevada. Best of luck.

I wouldn't say it's solely their job, was meant by that is being a small town, not much goes on. When police don't have many calls they keep busy with traffic violations, even as little as 2mph over. I have a friend that just picked up a speeding ticket for 52 in a 50. Speeding is speeding through and through I've just never seen those tickets actually happen. Safe travels!
