1984 K3500 nv4500 install

I have a 4 door dually 4x4 454 4 speed that I want to drive more.65 is wound up. I have a 95 nv4500, the t-case in it, and also a 241c. My questions are...

What clutch combo do I use?

What is the best transfer case to use?

What bell housing?

Basically what all parts do I need to do it right?

I know some of you are going to tell me to research it and I have and most seem cobbled up to me. I want to hear from someone that has actually done it not someone who read about it somewhere. in the future I also plan to pull the big block and go with a 6bt. Thanks in advance.

If the 241 is out of the 95, it won't work. The output is on the wrong side.

Re: 1984 K3500 nv4500 install

There is nothing wrong with the 205 case that it would already have being a one ton. It can be adapted but the best route would be to find a round pattern case 205. they came in the K/V30s 85+. they will bolt to the rear of the NV4500 with much less effort. if i remember correctly the 95 was the transition year for the NV in gms. so yours should be modifiable to work with a cummins. that would require an input, retainer and BH swap to accomplish. with the gas engine clutch, you should be able to run a stock(to the '84 truck) hydro assembly if you run an Advance Adapters conversion bell housing. if you try to use the stock stuff you may end up with driveline clearance issues.
