Re: How 'bout them steering wheels...

I built this one for my 65 C10. I welded the chain up and then coated the whole thing with plastidip spray. Gonna put the suicide knob on it once it's in the truck.

i like different things myself but from a safety standpoint i would think you would have been better off cutting the center from a grant wheel with the 3 spokes and welded your chain to that???

I can see your point, but the spokes and center are 1/2" steel, and very over welded. If they break or bend in a smashup, the grant wouldn't have done any better for me. Thanks for the concern though!

Re: How 'bout them steering wheels...

Mine is a Nardi made in italy. Found it at pic-a-part on an impala lowrider lucky it pulled off without a puller ( nut was even loose) The spokes were 24k gold plated which was peeling off so I sanded and polished the spokes. These retail in the $300+ range.
Total cost was $15 including the adapter! Still need a horn button

I like this. A lot. I had the same thing in mind when I get that far on my crew. The '69 Camaro comfort grip wheel is a little thin by today's standards.

Here is my steering wheel in my 83. Not sure what brand but I found it on ebay a few years ago at a steal so I snagged it up.

Re: How 'bout them steering wheels...

My 78 has a chevelle/nova wheel with the chevrolet script on it. I went that way because my old one was bent, and that was period correct but still a little different. Ill see if I can find a pic for yall.
