LWB cut to SWB $$

Ive seen a couple LWB trucks cut down to SWB trucks for sale recently, Im just going by the VIN # they listed.... but there doesnt seem like a $$ reduction for this as related to their asking prices... maybe they dont know?? ...... my question is: how much of a price difference should one expect from this LWB cut down to a SWB? or does it have any effect at all on the price?

Re: LWB cut to SWB $$

Price is affected by the buyer, what he or she is willing to pay.
Some people want originality some don't care, it's all the same story that's been going on for decades.

I would not pay SWB prices for a cut LWB truck, but! I would not be opposed to buying one that is nice and priced in he middle somewhere.

Re: LWB cut to SWB $$

Really depends on the job doesn't it? I mean if the bed is off a SWB truck the frame cut was done by a pro that leaves no evidence of the cut. (I did this on a 71 by sectioning the frame and using a donor SWB chassis for some of the unique parts) then the value of the truck should be based on the condition. )

Re: LWB cut to SWB $$

I had one cut down that i sold and took an average between a lwb & swb price and started from there. It also makes a huge difference in how well it was done, and in my case, how well you could keep the patina.
