Re: frame swap

Cant say for the 1996 but in the process of doing a 64 to 02. They are different but well worth the headaches you will encounter. Just drive a stock truck from each year and that will make your decision VERY easy.

Re: frame swap

The frame swap question gets asked a lot. I will always discourage anyone from installing a '60-'72 body onto a '73+ frame. It is way too much work IMO, especially on a '88+ frame. I see absolutely no reason to change the frame when you can have the same results using your original frame, and a whole lot less work.

Re: frame swap

Mine is almost mounted and has went very well. If I wouldn't have been using a body that has already been painted it would have been easier to adapt.

Re: frame swap

The resulting body lift is more acceptable on a 4wd than on a 2wd.
