What muffler offset are you running? I plan on Spintechs. True duels with side exit.

Just wondering what muffler offset you guys are running or what offset you have found to work best with true duels . My exhaust tips will be in front of rear tires.

Thanks!

I will be inrunning long tube headers with 2.5 exhaust, Spintech super prostreet 9000 true duels with rolled tip exiting in front of rear tires.

does everyone in texas run an extremely loud exhaust setup? seems like it lol..

you don't need offsets for those.. they're tiny boxes and will fit anywhere.

I guess so... This truck is just my toy so i want it pretty loud. If it was my daily driver I would probably run some less aggressive magnaflows.

Rednecks with 4x4s always run glass packs and big megaphone tips here.

Re: What muffler offset are you running? I plan on Spintechs. True duels with side e

Full length headers, true duals with cherry bombs, 2.5" piping all the way back and dumps at a 45deg downward angle just behind the rear axle. Seems to run good, but I don't own a dyno so I can't make any power claims.

But it is pretty loud...snappy sounding above 2300 kind of like the General Lee.....

The system was shorter when I bought the truck last month. It ended just behind the back of the cab maybe 3 feet max from the collectors. I lengthened it out to where it is now and put the 45 deg elbows on. It has tamed the noise considerably from what it was when I got it.

It is still a ticket magnet here in the Peoples' Republik of New Yorke, but it was much worse before.

Initially I wanted to turn them out and have them dump just ahead of the rear wheels, but my fuel tanks and springs were making things too much of a pain. The system already in place was very new and nicely done with all the joints nicely welded and I didn't want to tear that all apart. I would have if it was old and junky, but the system was put in very recently before I bought the truck.

I would be interested to hear what you have to say about flowmasters if you are willing to share.

78 has a walker true dual kit,now with tails removed, after the cherry bombs.
79 has custom bent duals, with and H pipe to flowmasters.
both cleaned out manifolds to pipes @ 2.25, out before the rear tires....
lol I'm sure the neighbours know when I leave.

Re: What muffler offset are you running? I plan on Spintechs. True duels with side e

Im running headers, true duals, flowmaster delta 50's and come out behind the tire.

2 1/4" at the moment, but I have a full set of the same in 2 1/2" sitting in my garage waiting to go under it.

I don't experience any real issues with my flows, other then the delta ones are a little rattly. The 50's are to quiet for me, so the new setup has 40's again.

I am also running center in, center out. Those mufflers are little, so shouldn't really matter much for your application. Mine are hung from the factory spots on the crossmember right at the back of the cab, and again back by the springs.

They're called chokemasters by idiots that don't understand you can't take an air hose and blow air through them to measure the flow rate.

Never had any rust, cracks, or rattles on mine. Guess maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.

When my truck ran...it had the Summit turbo mufflers with Dynomax headers. Sounded great...and cheap.

That’s what I was thinking, too. I imagine most of those folks don’t have a flow bench in their back yard.

As a result of their sponsorship of the NMCA/NSCA “Fastest Street Car” series I’ve had 4” Flowmasters on my Chevelle for about 20 years. No issues and they have that distinctive Flowmaster sound.

A lot of guys around here run them on their 6 and 7 second street cars. I imagine they would be too loud for daily use (for me, anyway).

Re: What muffler offset are you running? I plan on Spintechs. True duels with side e

I ran my first set for 13 years through all the PA salt plowing every winter and never had any issues. I actually would have still ran them, but just went new and gave the old ones to my uncle for his square.

I have no issues with the 50's I have now, other then they are a hair quieter then I would prefer. otherwise I would buy another set again and again and again.

Good luck with your purchase though.
